For many people pets are part of the family, and that means that the dog or cat has to come along with on family vacations. If you’re taking an airline and you want to bring your pets along with you then you should really consider Southwest pet carrier. The airline has a pet friendly policy, and any animals that fall into it are more than welcome to come along with the customer.

In order to be on a Southwest Airlines flight an animal must be fairly small, and the carrier must fit beneath the seat in front of the passenger. No animals are permitted the be checked as baggage and they won’t be carried in the cargo hold. All animals must fit into an approved carrier. Passengers that will be checking pets as carry ons must contact the airline to be sure that all arrangements are made and that their animal fits within the airline’s prescribed codes. As a quick for instance the animals must be at least 8 weeks old, harmless, odorless and require no attention during the flight since the animal must remain in place and in the carrier for the entire length of the flight that it’s on.

Generally speaking there are to be no more than 5 animals on any particular Southwest Airlines flight. However this might change so that more or fewer animals are included depending on arrangements and the needs of the airline and the passengers in question. As always customers are encouraged to approach Southwest Airlines with their needs.
