Roads by themselves can be hazardous, and we all have to be careful in order to avoid accidents. With a cell phone by your ear, you only compound the risks.

A vehicle comes to a screeching halt as a pedestrian, busy on a cell phone, crosses the road. My heart skips a beat seeing the narrow escape, but the pedestrian nonchalantly walks on, oblivious to the seriousness of the situation. It’s high time that laws are made and strictly enforced to promote safety.

All this time we were focused on the possible hazards of cell phone radiation, that we ignored this larger threat. Cell phones can be deadly not only on land but also at se too! Though they keep mariners at sea in touch with their families, they also cause many accidents. Sometimes navigating officers are so engrossed on their cell phones that ships have collided.

A study released in January from the University of Utah, USA, showed that cell phone users slow down traffic on streets and highways.
